BEAK> Life Goes On

BEAK> (I enjoy when Wikipedia busts out the “stylised as BEAK>”) are a band seemingly built around Geoff Barrow, who was in Portishead but was not The Singing Lady from Portishead. I’ve always liked the more peripheral Portishead, the Portishead tracks that didn’t sit well on your uncle’s 90s coffee table next to Moby’s Play. A BEAK> track (Brean Down) made my best of 2018 playlist, iirc, but I wasn’t ready to go all in on it, with it’s Death Valley 69 era Sonic Youth drone and distant, disassociating My Bloody Valentine vocal line. This is quite convincing though.
